Around the world, people from all walks of life are struggling with depression and anxiety at unprecedented levels. Now, more than ever, it’s important to be aware of mental health challenges and support one another in times of need.

Leading the charge is the World Health Organization (WHO), which has dedicated 10 October as World Mental Health Day — and you’re invited to get involved!

Hello Yellow Campaign

Young people are especially vulnerable to mental health challenges, struggling to handle the pressure of succeeding in school, keeping up with social media appearances, and more.

Recently, Storage King partnered with YoungMinds to fight for young people’s mental health.

The NHS reports that nearly half a million young people are referred for mental health problems every month, but sadly, they don’t receive the support they need.

On World Mental Health Day, thousands of people are joining forces in the #HelloYellow campaign to show young people that their experiences are valid and to promote a change in access to mental health resources. By encouraging people to shine bright and wear yellow, YoungMinds strives to raise awareness for World Mental Health Day and send a powerful message of support to young people.

How to Get Involved

YoungMinds encourages everyone to dress in yellow or decorate their workspace in yellow on 10 October as part of their #HelloYello campaign. Whether you’re a stay-at-home mum, a freelancer, or a member of a large corporate team, you can make a difference by wearing yellow and raising awareness of mental health struggles.

Show your support by wearing yellow and posting a picture of your efforts on social media. Choose to wear a plain yellow T-shirt or go all out and bandage yourself in neon!

Sign up for #HelloYellow 2022 and help create a brighter future for young people’s mental health.

There are additional ways to support the cause and help YoungMinds continue providing young people with the support they need. A donation as small as £2 can go a long way in making a difference. You can also volunteer your time to the cause.

#EndTheWait

If you’re inspired by wearing yellow and raising awareness about mental health struggles among our youth, we’d love it if you added your voice to the #EndTheWait campaign. We are asking people to sign a digital welcome card to be delivered to Thérèse Coffey, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care in the United Kingdom, outlining the top priorities for meeting mental health needs.

At Storage King, our committed team has pledged to support World Mental Health Day and the mission to #EndtheWait, a campaign committed to driving change and providing mental health assistance without delay. Together, we can create a brighter future for young people’s mental health.
