The World Health Organization (WHO) has dedicated the 10th of October to World Mental Health Day, which strives to raise awareness of mental health issues worldwide. At Storage King, we support the effort to make mental health and well-being a global priority.  Through the commitment of organisations such as YoungMinds, the time for struggling in silence is over.

Storage King and YoungMinds support youth struggling with mental health

Storage King has partnered with the dedicated team at YoungMinds – a leading mental health foundation in the UK - to help them in their mission to assist young people and raise awareness of mental health. YoungMinds has built a space where young people feel safe and supported, empowering them to speak up and get the help they need.

#EndTheWait

With World Mental Health Day around the corner, YoungMinds and Storage King are taking action through the #EndTheWait campaign, focusing on providing mental health assistance without delay.

The #EndTheWait campaign sends a very clear message — young people will wait no longer. It’s time for the government to step up and provide the NHS with the urgent resources needed to help with mental health struggles.

Thousands of young people seek mental health support, but the lack of resources leaves them alone, often leading to crisis points. Tragically, more than a quarter of young people have tried to end their lives while waiting for mental health support, and over 40% wait more than a month for support after coming forward.

Since the launch, more than 10,000 young people and supporters have joined the campaign, and the message has received significant media attention.

Get involved with #EndTheWait

YoungMinds and Storage King appeal to the public to take a stand for efficient mental health assistance. We are asking people to sign a digital welcome card to be delivered to Thérèse Coffey, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care in the United Kingdom.

The card outlines top priorities for meeting mental health needs, namely:

  • Access to help early on
  • Support in schools
  • NHS services that meet demand

Interested in finding out more about these requests? Watch the campaign videos here. When you sign the digital card, you add your voice to the cause, calling on the new government to recommit to the ten-year Mental Health Plan, prioritising young people and the need to #EndTheWait.

Be a part of the change today!
