November marked 10 years’ service in Self Storage for not 1, not 2 but 3 members of Storage King Staff!
Richard Locke and Mark Treece from our Derby Store started in self storage when the store was owned and operated by Capital Self Storage. Both team members were key in the transition period in 2014 and have continued to drive the store forwards. So much so that Richard was recognised for his achievements at the European Self Storage Awards in 2016 when he was crowned Self Storage Manager of the Year.
Our 3rd staff anniversary was for our Basildon Store Manager Mick Eldridge. Mick has been at the Basildon store since it opened and progressed from Assistant Manager to Store Manager over this time.
All staff were surprised by a visit from the management team bearing gifts, with Robin Greenwood CEO visiting Derby and Terry Doman, Operations Manager surprising Mick at Basildon. Storage King is proud to have retained such experienced and hardworking staff in our team.

Over the last 10 years Mick at Basildon has seen the change in ownership from Australia, to the UK to South Arica and has managed it all in his stride, it just goes to show how Mick can adapt to change! The two boys at Derby have seen their store being “Storage Kinged” and have driven up the occupancies and revenues since we came on board. Overall I hope this shows how much we value our store staff and the incredible jobs that they do."
