Storage King Chosen As Finalists For Two SSA UK Awards

Each year, the Self Storage Association (SSA) UK recognises and highlights various achievements and significant assets within the self storage industry through the SSA UK Awards.

The recognition of these awards is fairly significant in the industry, and as such the various categories attract a large number of highly competitive entries.

We are very excited to announce that this year, Storage King have been announced as finalists for two of these award categories.

Firstly, Ella Wilmott (manager of our Dartford store) has been announced as a finalist for the SSA UK Manager of the Year Award. Secondly, Storage King Oxford has been confirmed as a finalist for the SSA UK Major Operator Storage Facility of the Year Award.

Ella Wilmott, despite her youth, expertly manages Storage King Dartford and has been with the store for an impressive 11 years. The store boasts a lot of commercial customers and has over 25 offices let. She is one of four finalists in the Manager of the Year category. Comments Ella, “The thing that I love most about my job is my store. It’s basically my surrogate child. I’ve loved being a part of its growth over the past 11 years.”

Storage King Oxford has been selected as one of two finalists in the SSA UK Major Operator Facility of the Year Award.  The store consists of 900 units and is constantly growing, with revenue increasing by 13% year-on-year. The staff strongly believe in prioritising customer needs, and this is reflected in their outstanding service and reputation.

Comments CEO Robin Greenwood, “Our Oxford store is the largest store in the group and whenever I go there the staff members are always polite, courteous and very customer-service orientated. The store itself is always clean, well-maintained and well-presented.”   

The winner for both awards will be announced at the SSA UK Awards dinner on September 6 in London, hosted by Mark Durden-Smith who is best known for presenting on various ITV shows.

The winners of these awards will then progress to the European Self Storage Awards which will take place at the Paris Conference Centre on September 28.

There is just one more hurdle to jump for our finalists, but we are already very proud of them both and look forward to the awards ceremony later this year.
