Frequently Asked Questions
How does self storage work?
Storage King offers modern self storage, we have a wide range of storage units from Lockers (3ftx3ftx3ft) up to 400 Sq Ft units, with 24-hour manned CCTV in store.
Only you have access to your unit as it is locked with your own padlock and no keys are kept by Storage King. Or, it is secured by our Nokẽ Smart Entry system, allowing you to secure your unit with a mobile app that only you have access to.
Self Storage is exactly what it says it is. You can rent a unit from us for as little as 14 days or longer if you wish. Once you book a unit with us, you can then access your unit during our access hours to put your items into storage. Putting items into your storage unit is done by yourselves. We do have trolleys and over moving equipment available on site to help you move.
If you prefer, removals can do this. Please speak to the store for their current removal partner information, alternately we have a self-drive van hire service available at some of our stores.
What is included in the price - and are there any hidden extras?
The price you are quoted by our website or staff includes the cost of your storage unit per month including VAT. This price will be held if you reserve the unit. You will need a padlock to secure your room (you can bring your own or buy one from our store). Please note our Nokẽ Smart System stores do not require a padlock to secure your door, for more details, view them here.
Your goods must be insured whilst in storage. We require proof of insurance which is specific to goods being stored in storage or, alternately you can purchase insurance in store to cover your goods whilst in storage.
