Storage King Woodley are proud to be supporting Reading Pride this year with a donation of a garage sized storage room, to store all the advertising materials that are needed for the Reading Pride main festival event.
Throughout the year the Reading Pride team works to raise public awareness in the local area for those who provide information, advice and support on a breadth of issues for the gay, lesbian and transgender community. Over the last 7 years they have worked to raise funds for the community and for the annual festival which showcases diversity and encourages acceptance throughout Berkshire.
The next Reading Pride event will be held on 31st August 2013. The first Reading Pride was held on Saturday 4 September 2004 at King's Meadow in Reading. Since 2007 Pride has been a permanent event at King's Meadow. Pride 2008 saw an increase of more than 10,500 visitors, which has helped raise more money which is put back into the community, by offering support to a number of local charities and organizations such as Be You, Gay Berkshire and Thames Valley Gay Police Association. In 2009 saw added attractions like live stages, VIP areas, performance tent and chill out areas, Youth Zone and Karaoke Storage King will also have a stall at the event to show their support for the local gay & lesbian community.
Since our sponsorship was confirmed, the Woodley store team has now also been invited to sit on the members board so we can look at other ways of supporting this great charity event throughout the year.
