A coffee table is often a focal point in our homes, whether that be in your entrance area or a room where you kick back and relax after a long day. With so much more time spent in our homes these days, organising the space around you is important and so in this blog post we share a few tips on improving your coffee table decor.
How to create a stylish coffee table:
- Add something green
Adding some greenery to your space can create a calming atmosphere while at the same time also have the added benefit of cleaning the air. You could take this opportunity to add a pop of colour by opting for flowers instead of green plants.
- Get balance
Don’t place too many small pieces on your coffee table as it may appear cluttered and messy. Rather opt to strike a balance between large and small items, but again, less is often more here. Try grouping smaller and large pieces together in groups of three to strike a good balance.
- Lay it out
Composition is important for how you lay your decor out on your coffee table. If you like symmetry and straight lines, you can try forming a grid pattern on your coffee table with large books and trays.
- Leave some space
Remember that your coffee table still needs to be practical. Try placing your decorative pieces in a tray as you can easily remove it and place it elsewhere if you need more space on the table. Feet off!
- Create layers
By having items at different heights and pieces grouped together, it creates focal points for the eye to be drawn to. If everything is the same height, all the pieces blend into one.
- Add something seasonal
Whether this be flowers that are in season, a scented candle that encapsulates the season or decorative pieces, having seasonal décor pieces creates a bit of interest on your table.
