Throw the ultimate Halloween-themed sleepover with these killer tips

Posted: 29 October 2021

Halloween Sleepover Party

Throwing a memorable slumber party requires skill, and of course, countless comfy pillows! Becky Drewitt founded Sleepy Teepee Fun in July 2020 to give kids in Milton Keynes a magical night they’ll never forget. Starting out with only 4 teepees, Becky quickly grew her business into a thriving teepee enterprise with dozens of unique tents and themes.

Today, Sleepy Teepee Fun offers an array of fully decorated and unique teepees to create the ultimate sleepover experience. From afternoon tea and picnic setups to Christmas and Halloween themed movie nights, clients can choose from a range of popular set-ups or even design their very own theme. With Halloween just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to throw a killer Halloween-themed slumber party. Try these tips to create a frightful and fun sleepover the kids will love!

1. Dress to kill

To create the ultimate Halloween sleepover, you’ve got to dress the part! When inviting your guests, encourage them to come in a creepy but comfortable costume. This will not only make sure your guests look the part but it’ll also get them in the Halloween spirit! For some extra fun, you can hold a competition for the best-dressed guest and have a few awesome prizes up for grabs.

2. Serve up scary snacks

When it comes to food, there are plenty of ways you can create dishes that are both tasty and terrifying. Arrange a platter of spooky finger foods for when the guests arrive such as eyeball deviled eggs, ghost-shaped mini pizzas and zombie veggies. Monster muffins and pumpkin-shaped rice crispy treats will also be a hit for dessert.

3. Spook up the decor

By being creative with your decor, you can completely transform your living room into a haunted graveyard or hotel. You can choose a theme or simply use black and orange balloons, streamers and bunting. Big comfy pillows are a must to make the setting cosey and renting a few Halloween-themed teepees from a local party planner will take the night to the next level!

4. Set the mood with music

If you’ve ever watched a scary movie on mute, then you know that the thrill is all in the music! To really set the scene, create a Halloween playlist of various creepy sounds such as creaking floors, sinister laughs and squeaky doors. You can also find a soundtrack from an iconic Halloween movie like Ghostbusters to keep the evening upbeat.

5. Play a Halloween-themed game

A game is a great way to stretch legs during the interval or even to keep the fun going after the film ends! There are plenty of classics you can spice up for Halloween like pass the pumpkin, worm bobbing or pin the grin on the jack-o'-lantern.

With fun-filled tents and decor, Sleepy Teepee Fun are experts at transforming homes into thrilling Halloween parties. If you’re looking to create the ultimate sleepover experience, check out their Facebook page or read their business journey on our blog.
