Awards are presented for the following categories: Business Initiative, Store of the Year, Manager of the Year and Charity Partnership. Storage King was delighted to have been shortlisted in not one but two of the categories, Manager of the Year and Charity Partnership.

Jose Suarez, manager at Storage King Gloucester was awarded a high commendation in the category of Manager of the Year. Jose has a wealth of Self Storage experience working in the industry for 17 years and is an asset to Storage King and the Gloucester store.

The big win came with the Charity Partnership category, where Storage King's partnership with Rays of Sunshine was chosen as the winning entry in a tough field.

Storage King began its partnership with Rays of Sunshine in January 2015, although the company has supported many local charity events and initiatives this is the first company-wide charity partnership. As a company Storage King has committed to raise £15,000 for the charity in 2015. This is through a combination of activities, not only is the company donating £1 for every Move In to the charity, but the stores and head office have also pledged to raise £500 each by the end of the year.

Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity was formed in 2003 to brighten the lives of children who are living with serious or life-limiting illnesses, between the ages of 3-18, across the United Kingdom

As the end of 2015 fast approaches the company has completed a number of fundraising activities, including Martin from the Woodley store jumping out of a plane, Head office taking part in a team triathlon and stores running raffles and bake sales.

Rachel Hardman, Marketing Manager 'We are delighted to have been recognised for our partnership with Rays of Sunshine, the charity undertakes great work and as a company we are able to help grant wishes to children all over the UK. We look forward to continuing in 2016 and hopefully beating our 2015 fundraising total'
