Storage King Shrewsbury Appeal For Christmas Gifts

Appeal for support for the "Christmas Gift List" Appeal

Storage King Shrewsbury is looking to collect as many gifts as possible for Shropshire charities with the aim to bring some Christmas cheer to some of the less fortunate people in the area.

Storage King on Battlefield Enterprise Park ran a toy appeal for children in 2015 which was a huge success, with people donating over 900 toys in Shropshire and a further 1000 across their other 4 branches in Dudley, West Bromwich, Nottingham and Warrington. Charities including Harry Johnson Trust and Hope House were a few of the grateful recipients.

This year they are hoping to make the appeal even bigger and better. Storage King in partnership with the Shropshire Star, appealed to Shropshire based charities to come forward with their Christmas Gift Lists. From this they have chosen to support a massive 10 local charities; Homestart, PODS, Age UK, The Movement Centre, Hope House, Harry Johnson Trust, Little Rascals foundation, Telford and Wrekin council and Princess Royal hospital.

To make this a success they are encouraging local businesses and residents to dig deep and donate whatever gifts they can. Each charity has a diverse ‘Christmas Wish List’ listing items from sensory toys for The Movement Centre to confectionary, and toiletries for Age UK.  The gifts can be dropped to Storage King on Battlefield Enterprise Park, Shrewsbury or The Shropshire Stars office in Ketley, Telford.

Managing Director of these Storage King stores, Sarah Hopkins:

“Christmas is a time of fun and laughter with friends and family. It is a time to show love and appreciation through the giving and receiving of gifts. Something that many of us take for granted.

For some, this will not be the case. Many people, old and young, spend Christmas alone or feeling lonely, some will receive no gifts. Some will have no family or friends to celebrate with and others may spend it battling with illnesses. Circumstances such as these makes Christmas far from the joyful time we have all come to expect. We are passionate about trying to put a smile on the faces of the less fortunate this Christmas.’

‘We can not do this on our own, we urge everyone in Shropshire, especially the business community to do a little bit this Christmas for these fantastic charities. By collecting gifts and or vouchers and bringing them down to Storage King or the Shropshire Star you will help in making someone’s Christmas that little bit happier’

For a copy of the Christmas Gift Lists please contact Danni at Storage King on [email protected].  Where possible we will be seeking as much PR as we can for all donors to show our appreciation.
