Storage King in pole position to acquire Arrows Self Storage

Posted: 09 October 2012

Storage King is pleased to announce the continued expansion of their portfolio through the acquisition of Arrows Self Storage in Milton Keynes. This latest acquisition brings the total number of branded UK Storage King facilities to 25.

This latest acquisition is currently 80% occupied and when completely refurbished will offer a maximum of 34,477 square feet of net lettable space, for both residential and business customers in the Milton Keynes area. In addition to Self Storage the store benefits from 6,850 square feet of individual serviced office space, available in a variety of sizes, which can be rented on a flexible basis.

Arrows Self Storage opened in 1998, and has an interesting history having formerly been the F1 Headquarters for the Arrows racing team. Arrows owner Jackie Oliver, a former F1 driver himself set up the Arrows team, and after the Arrows team was transferred to Oxford Jackie converted the site to Self Storage where he was assisted in the running of the store by Rosemary Wright.

Robin Greenwood, Storage King CEO welcomed the acquisition, explaining that for the second year in a row Storage King had demonstrated its commitment to purchasing quality assets in the Self Storage sector. This is the third acquisition since May 2011 and fits excellently into the Storage King portfolio: "Not only are we pleased to have purchased yet another quality Self Storage facility, but it was a great pleasure to work alongside Rosemary Wright and to meet such a character as Jackie Oliver who is a true gentleman" This continued expansion is supported through the strong financial backing provided by Cabot Square Capital.

Storage King continues to look for high quality, well located, freehold sites to expand their existing portfolio and welcomes approaches from any existing Self Storage operators who are considering marketing their property in the near future.
