Can you briefly introduce Calcon Projects Limited and the services you offer?
Calcon Projects Limited is an Electrical contracting company. We specialise in electrical installations, energy management, upgrades, test and inspection, PAT testing, trace heating, EV charging points and refurbishment for the commercial and domestic industry.
What sparked the idea to start Calcon Projects Limited?
I have been working in the electrical industry since I was young and it’s something that I have always enjoyed doing. The idea for Calcon started as a conversation one night over dinner in 2017, and in a few months, we had registered the company and hired our first engineers. We have since been growing and expanding the scope of works that we do.
Starting a business is tough, especially in a specialised field. What are some challenges you and your team have experienced?
Having your own company is never an easy task. Luckily, we have a very strong team and we are blessed with employees who are passionate about making this company a success and go above and beyond to help in any and every way they can. The biggest challenge so far was not working during the lockdown. Not knowing what will happen to the company during this time was a huge strain.
During this time, we were asked to help out vulnerable members of the community who were unable to get the assistance they needed. So, we started attending callouts. We rotated our staff to keep everyone safe and worked through the worst time of the pandemic, and it soon became apparent that we are essential workers. Our team rose to this occasion and offered to sacrifice anything to be able to support us and help the company through this time.
What is it about Calcon Projects Limited that keeps customers coming back?
We believe that what sets our company apart from others is that we genuinely care about the services we provide. We will do what it takes to always get the best results for our clients and for our employees, and we ensure that when we leave, the work is done to the highest standards and the customer is satisfied.
