Storage King has aimed to help make self storage simple for businesses and every day people since 2004.

Our store managers are an integral part of our flexible and easy to use service, responsible for leading the teams who make storage magic happen on a daily basis.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a manager for Storage King? Our "A Day In The Life" series tells the story of the men and women who help students, businesses and the general public with their self storage requirements. This week we chat to Lawrence Woodgate, Manager at Storage King in Aylesford.

Caffeine plays a major role in helping many of us start our days, and I have two mandatory cups of coffee before tackling the M25 from my home to the Storage King Aylesford office.

I always arrive at my store early to see what’s what, complete my walk around and run the daily reports. Knowing where you are before opening is key, as it means you can hit the ground running before following up on new enquiries. These are the bread and butter of our business, and are paramount to the success of my store.

Lunch can be a bit tricky sometimes, but I’ve mastered the art of multitasking!

What drives me as manager of Storage King Aylesford is knowing that each customer’s individual needs are met, and knowing I am giving that little bit extra to invest in them as people and not merely as customers.

What I enjoy most at Storage King is being a part of the strong management team, and having a fully capable assistant manager in Hayden West.

At the end of the day, once all of our customer enquiries have been followed up, we run our reports and then share our successes with the rest of the group, and account for the customer move in’s we’ve made that day.

Storage King Aylesford is just 4 minutes from the M20 and 7 minutes from Aylesford train station.
